Sandra Pearson-Adams

I have been working in the horse industry since I left school just before I was 16

– that was in 1955 – do the maths!!!!

My experience includes working in:

• Hunt stables

• Breeding and Showing yards

• Major Equestrian Centres plus

• Riding High School Demonstrations all over Europe and Scandinavia

• Working in Circus and Theatre

and

Training with Joszi Smaha Vinicky on Lippizaner and Andalusian stallions for Haute Ecole in

• Germany

• Holland

• Sweden and

• France – where I returned later to attend the Cadre Noir at Saumur as a student

My husband, Barry, and I set up our own Equestrian Centre in Shropshire where we trained and produced horses and riders from all around the world for British Horse Society accreditation and competition to Olympic level. During that period I was lucky enough to compete on many horses – a mixed bag of very talented ones, and the ‘won’t go’, ‘won’t stop’, ‘no manners’, ‘bucks into canter’ sort!!!

I rode in

* Dressage – to Grand Prix

* One and 3 Day Events – National and International

* Show-jumping

* Show Hunter and Hack Classes – and loved it all.

At our Centre we had a Team of Freelance coaches who travelled around UK and Internationally – apart from Barry and myself this Team included:

➢ Richard Davison FBHS

➢ William Blane FBHS

➢ Nick Rogers BHSI

➢ Hilary Francois BHSI

➢ Jan Stirling BHSI

➢ Jane Comrie BHSII

➢ Karen Nicholas BHSII.

We ran Workshops, mentored riders and coaches, gave business advice to Centres, and acted as Expert Witnesses in Equestrian Accident litigation. It was an exciting and fulfilling time. I hold the highest International Equestrian qualification – the Fellowship of the British Horse Society, and at the time that I gained this level was the youngest person to achieve it –

and only the second to be successful at the first attempt.

I presented Workshops regularly between 1975 and 1985 in UK and

• America – Dressage, Eventing, Showing, Western Pleasure and 5 gaited horses!!!

• Canada – coached team members of the 3 Day Event team, Dressage, mentored National Junior 3 Day Event Team Trainer

• Ireland – Dressage and Eventing plus preparation for BHS examinations

• Israel – Dressage and Show Jumping, plus assisted with first Equestrian Competition at the Hapoel Games

• Africa – mostly private coaching

I came to Australia in 1985 to put together a training and coaching programme in Brisbane

– even though this had to be shelved I have continued to work to develop my stated dreams in this country.

I continue to run workshops in:

➢ Queensland

➢ New South Wales

➢ South Australia

➢ and accept clients’ horses to train at my own property.

So feel free to contact me via the website’s Contact Page to talk about your equestrian training needs.

My Dreams are – to

•Continue my journey as a horse trainer, rider, coach and person towards Excellence

•Encourage and feed the hunger for equestrian knowledge and skills in others

•Inspire riders to recognise the value of a centred, independent seat

•Help people to develop their own Horse Riding and Training skills and confidence

•Assist and mentor the next generation of equestrian Teachers and Coaches
