The Author, Gene A. Brown, attended the City University of New York in 1962 where he was a student of the renowned, Dr. John Hope Franklin, Chairman of the History Department(Brooklyn College.) He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Washington State University, Pullman, Washington.
He has been a Civil Rights Activist since 1960 when he was a College Freshman, and he led "Sit-in Demonstrations" at Lunch-Counters in the South, and anti-segregated "Jim Crow" tactics which sought to Disenfranchise African Americans and other minorities. The Voting Rights Act was exposed in his book in 2007, and the Supreme Court of the U.S. recently stuck down section 4 & 5 to further disenfranchise minorities. The fight continues in "Reparations for Slavery and Disenfranchisement to African Americans: Four Hundred Years."
