Karamba Bayo

My name is Mr. Karamba Bayo, son of Soriba and Mariama

Conde. I was born on September 9, 1947 in Conakry Republic of

Guinea, West Africa.

I devoted more than 25 long and hard years of my

life to the ideal of safeguarding human rights in Guinea, and

have been able to take concrete action liberating from poverty

more than 1500 marginalized young people, both girls and

boys.

To do so, I founded in June 1987 both the NGO called La Samaritaine

Guinee, the purpose of which is to monitor and implement the

Convention on the Rights of the Child nationally in Guinea,

and in 2000 the Guinean National Coalition on the

Rights of Children. Since June 1987 I have been an active human

rights advocate, committed to the well-being of the marginalized

people of my country, as well as a published author supporting

the development of Guinea through democratic means.

Since August 2006, I live in Columbus, Ohio USA with my family.
