I was born in Australia to English and French parents and have lived in London and Paris.
I did a philosophy degree at Cambridge University foolishly thinking this would reveal the meaning of life. Three years later it seemed sensible to agree with Nietzsche that the closest we'll get is gathering lots of fascinating perspectives. After doing an MA in creative and professional writing I started writing seriously and had the friendship network to support me with workshops and cups of tea. I also worked in events and worked for many brands on marketing campaigns including Cadbury, Ubisoft and Nike.
My first journalism challenge came when the editor of Skin Two Magazine asked me to help him relaunch Skin Two Magazine. Already a fan of pop art fashion I was thrilled to score the UK for alternative designers, artists and writers to help fill the pages of Skin Two. Katy Perry was the cover girl on my first issue as Contributing Editor.
My first book project was published by the boutique publisher Life is Amazing, the book was part of an Arts Council Funded project that brought together 11 writers and 5 artists. It features three of my short stories and some brilliant tales from the other 10 writers. You can buy Portsmouth Fairy Tales for Grown-Ups right here on Amazon or direct from the publisher. Our book trailer and documentary can be found on www.tessaditner.com
In 2015 I was given the opportunity to become the city of Portsmouth's Literature Worker. Do join the facebook group and come to our monthly meet ups. Just search 'Portsmouth Writers' Hub' and join to be automatically invited to our events and kept in the loop.
