Peter J. Uren

Peter J. Uren was born and grew up on the NSW South Coast, the second of four children. After finishing High School, Peter joined the Royal Australian Air Force where he served for 23 years. He worked for another seven years as a civilian with the Department of Defence before ill health forced his retirement.

Peter has had a life long love affair with motorcycles. He purchased his first bike at 18, and in the intervening 40 years has had another nine machines, including a classic BSA outfit. He still enjoys riding, albeit on three wheels rather than two. His current mount is a Can-Am Spyder Roadster RSS SE5.

Peter came late to writing for pleasure. While the Air Force taught him to write official correspondence and reports, Stroud Writers taught him to write fiction. He joined the group in July 2012 and by September 2013 he had written and published his first novel: The Old Mechanic. The first sequel, Dominator in the Shadows, followed in October 2014, and the second sequel, The Classic Bike Workshop, was published in September 2015. The third sequel and the fourth book in the series is currently being written.

Peter has been married to Judy for 38 years, and they have one adult son.
