Andreas G. Stuetz

In the seventies, as a young boy in West Germany, Andreas dreamed of being an adventurer, an inventor and a successful entrepreneur. He always wanted to fly and was fascinated with the ARD cult TV puppet series Robbi, Tobbi und das Fliewatuut. In that imaginative series, the Fliewatuut was a vehicle capable of flight, floatation and terrestrial travel. Andreas was stricken with a deep yearning to command a Fliewatuut; he needed adventure!

Life progressed. In 2000, he was awarded with the highly prestigious Startup price by Angela Merkel. He masterminded the concept of bandwidth-independent video conferencing and was awarded a patent for it. Andreas matured into the prosperous inventor and entrepreneur that he had envisioned - but something was missing. No matter what else happened in his life, he still wanted to travel and experience daring adventures in a Fliewatuut.

In 2007 Andreas and his wife Melanie became licensed pilots and shortly thereafter launched their childhood dream of a world tour by a "Fliewatuut"-like gyroplane. They engaged wholly in a unique worldwide adventure through Europe (along the Way of St. James), Africa, Australia, New Zealand, the USA and South America. It was a truly pioneering effort!

Their astonishing adventure took eighteen months to complete and spanned five separate continents. About this adventure, they wrote the book Weltflug - The Gyroplane Dream and produced the five-part weltflug.tv film series. This amazing book and accompanying video collection are the thrilling results of more than 3 years of work overall. With more than 20,000 man hours invested in the project, the final 5-DVD/Blu-ray collection results from more than 450 hours of Full HD videography.
