Laurent La Gamba

Artiste, peintre, photographe et écrivain français.

Plasticien célèbre pour ses camouflages urbains, Laurent La Gamba est né en banlieue parisienne en 1967. Après des études de littérature moderne à la Sorbonne où il se spécialise sur l'œuvre de Jacques Lacan, il commence à mener une carrière de peintre et de photographe conceptuel. Dans les années 2000, ses installations photographiques sur le thème du camouflage lui apporteront une reconnaissance internationale.

Laurent La Gamba was born in a north Paris suburb in 1967.

After specializing in studies of the work of Jacques Lacan at the Sorbonne University, he begins a career as both a painter and a conceptual photographer. From 2000, his photo installations dealing with camouflage in so many variants and which he describes as being intimately linked to his academic curriculum, afford him international recognition.

In 2012, Laurent La Gamba returns to his first love, literature, writing a first collection of short stories: A Californian Odyssey. It is the first part of a large cycle, mixing autobiography and fiction, which will continue with Welcome to Lethargy land (2013), Willing Suspension of Disbelief (2014), and Monlywood (2015).
