Renee' La Viness

At age thirteen, Renee’ La Viness became a professional ventriloquist who wrote her own humorous skits and booked her own engagements. Her later writings have been published in multiple anthologies, magazines, newspapers, and other projects. She enjoys writing fiction and nonfiction, and has won many awards.

From 2013 to 2018, Renee’ served as an editor for 4RV Publishing, including two years as the Children’s Corner Imprint Editor. During the same time, she was the Project Coordinator for an international, multi-genre anthology project known as Anything Goes, Volume 1.

Renee’ enjoys sponsoring and judging writing contests, offering workshops, speaking at conferences, and editing children’s books and short stories. She is the founder/organizer of the annual Meet the Publishers! event in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a co-founder of the Read.Write.Share! Writer’s Weekend in Arkansas.

Although journals are her most recent focus, she has some longer writings in the works and is also publishing a few of her short stories as ebooks. Just for fun, she recorded one of her flash fiction stories on video at https://youtu.be/kUYWXlmDpPs

Spending time with her family and volunteering for the local schools keep Renee' on the move.

Renee' lives in northeastern Oklahoma with her husband, their nervous Corgi and four exceedingly ornery chickens.
