Buffy Naillon

First, the Serious-Sounding Bio...

Buffy Naillon has worked in the media industry since 1999, contributing to "USA Today Travel," "The Seattle PI," "Chron," and Germany's "Der Spiegel" magazine. She also served a stint in radio for NPR News 91 and has worked as a filmmaker and videographer on projects like "The Biggest Loser" and "Sergeant Paine."

She studied Theater at New York University, German at the University of the Saarland and graduated with a bachelor's degree in German Literature from Boise State University.

Now for the Fun Stuff

She's currently trying to convince herself that she's a tech geek by getting her master's degree in Educational Technology at Boise State. This is only so she can have an excuse to create mobile apps and video games to play with when she's not writing books or hanging out in coffee shops with friends or with her sketchbooks. (Often these two things are the same thing.)

Aside from a love of sketchbooks, colored pencils, and even more coffee, Buffy loves looking at tiny houses on Pinterest and fantasizing about building her own. But given that she has no skills in this area, the house would be as as sturdy as the witch's candy house in Hansel and Gretel and not quite as tasty.

Buffy also loves travel, food culture, and fairy tales. Which explains why these three themes often provide the ingredients for her books and for her freelance writing.
