Michelle Korenfeld

Michelle is a lifelong creativity educator, facilitator, author, poet, and painter with a passion for nurturing curiosity in children’s hearts and minds. Her STEAM resources are based 20 years’ experience using the beauty of her art and literature for introducing nature and science to young people.

In her books science, art, nature, and environment spring from the pages. Readers travel interactively creating one-of-a-kind books, being coauthors and co-illustrators. Packed with ideas the books serve to enrich any classroom or home, nurturing creative environments.

Michelle's method sums up into the 5 E's. These are 5 core practices: Explore, Experience, Examine, Elevate and Express. In her workshops teachers and parents experience children's processes of thinking, and learn how to guide those into 21st century skills.

Michelle's books are based on her teaching at The Dr. Erica Landau Institute for the Advancement of Youth to Creativity and Excellence. Scientifically and educationally they are based on conversations with Dr. Moshe Rishpon, who established the Clore Garden of Science and The Science Oriented Youth Department in The Weizmann Institute. This department is a pioneer program in science education and a leader of that field worldwide.

Michelle believes much of children's aggression derives from stifled creativity, and hopes her books help direct students toward fulfillment of individual creative potentials. She believes all children today are bright with unexpressed thinking, and that creative teaching strategies practiced for years in gifted education should be implemented for the education of all children.

Michelle's original tools are based on her life research and on raising her daughters. Already teenagers, they still teach her creative thinking lessons every day. Check out her blog Raising Creative Thinkers for weekly guidance and inspiration.
