Cathy M. Donnelly was born and lived most of her life in Scotland, one of the most beautiful and haunting places on earth. This ancient land, with its endless stories of battles and alliances, villains and warriors, instilled in Cathy a love of reading and writing about history and the people who made it.

Cathy's new novel THERE IS A PLACE is set in the turbulent years of early 16th century Scotland. Michael struggles to forgive himself, and his God, while trying to come to terms with his ability to communicate with the dead.

Cathy's first novel DISTANT WHISPERS is the story of Rachel, who has spend many lifetimes guarding her secrets, waiting for the time when she can fulfill her final destiny. It is set in 17th century England and concludes in present day Australia.

Cathy researches any real historical characters and events thoroughly in the hope that the reader is swept into a believable world that has a touch of magic. Her interests include the Knights Templar, secret societies and the supernatural and she enjoys incorporating these themes into her writing.
