Kris Mole

Kris Mole was born in London in 1983, but moved to the small town of Southwick, five miles along the coast from Brighton, in 1988 and grew up (debatable) there. He attended King’s Manor Secondary School, but often only for morning registration, after which he would jump the school gate and bunk off for the day. Shortly after leaving King’s Manor, the council knocked it down. Kris feels that they waited until he had left before doing this, just to spite him.

Despite his problems with authority and his hatred of school as a child and teenager, he now teaches English at a university in France. As well as France, he has lived and worked in Italy, Slovenia and Spain, which has allowed him to indulge his passion for language learning. He is suspicious that Brexit happened just to spite him.

Kris’ first book, Gatecrashing Europe, was written in 2010 and first published by Valley Press in 2015. The newer version (released 2020) includes photos and maps, not found in earlier editions. There are two more works currently in the pipeline. Watch this space.

Kris was banned from the town of Ponte Galeria, just outside Rome, in 2003 for “juvenile hijinks”. He doesn’t know if this ban is still in place but likes to think it is. He is also banned from the country of Azerbaijan. Not his fault.
