Sean Laughton

I started playing guitar at the age of 17 on a ¾ size guitar that belonged to my mom. It had one bent machine head and nylon strings that, I'm sure, had never been changed.

That didn't deter me at all - I'd sit for hours in my room, engrossed in my newfound ability to make music, practicing all the chords and other tricks that my father had taught me.

Before long, I realised that music was one of the things I was truly good at and passionate about, so I went off to get a degree in music from a nearby Technikon.

With my newly-acquired knowledge, I applied myself to developing some teaching materials that would help guitarists to grow in the shortest time possible, and I taught guitar (and a little bass and drums too) full-time for about 7 years after that.

I've played guitar for about 23 years now. I've taught everyone, from all walks of life, and all age groups, from kids to pensioners. I love nothing more than to share knowledge with people who really want to grow their skills.

I'm hoping that, through my books and other materials, I can help you to progress along your guitar playing journey in the most streamlined and fun way possible!
