Oyinpreye Dorgu

Oyinpreye C Dorgu, Sr. was born in Nigeria to Nigerian parents, emigrated to the United States in the early 1980s, returned to Nigeria in the mid 1980s and spent 17 years growing up in that country. He returned to the United States in the early 2000s to pursue his undergraduate and graduate studies. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Policy and Planning from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Maryland University College. Oyinpreye has written thousands of songs, recorded numerous CDs, and performed live in shows in both Africa and the United States. He is the pioneer of the Book of Songs series and has employed an innovative approach to bringing contemporary lyrical compositions into the literary world. Oyinpreye loves writing music because it gives him an opportunity to express himself freely, channel the experiences of others around him and paint literary pictures of global events in a rhythmic, poetic, and artistic way.
