Stephen Hawkins

Stephen Hawkins was born in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, UK and has lived in the UK all of his life; although, he has been known to leave the country on several occasions for up to 6 months at a time, working in various drumming positions around the world. From an early age, he began drumming and by the time he reached 20 was working alongside some of the biggest names in British show business – the exact people he aspired to work for as a professional drummer. People such as Paul Daniels, Bobby Davro, Les Dennis, The Three Degrees, Susan Maughan just to name a few.

After a car accident, he changed direction and began completing a drumming course he had started a few years earlier that was suitable for all levels.

It was merely coincidental that one of his heros, the late great Stephen Hawking, shared a similar name and interests. Stephen Hawking was known as the Master of Time which is exactly what drumming is all about; but drumming, also relies heavily on the ability to leave space rather than playing a million drum beats per second.

It seemed appropriate then to title his 12 part drumming program "Drumming, The Art and Science of Time and Space".

Stephen Hawkins strongly believes that all drummers should become their own master of time and space. His motto is “Master the art of leaving space then the things you play in time become great”.

Upon completion of the drumming program, Stephen continued his writing to include a variety of other titles centred around the “success and achievement” arena, which will become available over the coming months.
