John Tissandier is a retired computing lecturer who lives in Devon, UK. He was born in France, but moved to England at the age of five. He studied science and philosophy at the University of Surrey, and has been inspired by the spiritual teachings of India.
He began writing poems during his teens, but after some years went off poetry. One day, in London, he bravely confessed this to Brian Patten, when they happened to be the only two people left at a poetry reading. Brian said that this had happened to some of his best friends, but prophesied that the love of writing poetry would come back. And so it did many years later, when John retired and moved to Totnes.
As well as poems John writes short stories. His love of this form was initiated by making up bedtime stories for his three children when they were growing up – one of the most enjoyable ways of utilising one's creativity.
John's other creative outlets include photography and playing guitar (he was born the year of the Fender Telecaster – the first mass-produced, solid-body electric guitar).
Some of his poems and stories have been published in Caduceus, International Times, and Self Enquiry. His first collection “TWO to ONE” is available from Amazon.
