Dominic Watters, also known as SingleDadSW, comes from the most deprived blocks of his council estate. He has used his experience of the daily realities of poverty to help shape discussions about fuel and food insecurity in the UK.

Dominic is the founder of the ‘Food is Care’ campaign and has designed a groundbreaking Food Insecurity training that he delivers to frontline social work teams up-and-down the country.

Dominic highlights the snobbery he has faced when communicating the concept of ‘living experience’, (Watters, D. 2021), in the social work domain and stresses the urgency required to address the inequalities experienced by the poor long before the cost-of-living crisis was conceived.
