I recollect that once, while at school, I was given an assignment to write a five hundred word essay. Boy did I struggle. I seem to remember being put into detention for not completing the task to the satisfaction of the English teacher. I can’t remember whether it was for lack of content or for not completing the five hundred words.
At that time, I never dreamt that one day I would actually volunteer to write another story. In fact I felt pretty much the same way until fairly recently.
A short while ago an idea for a story came to me and I felt compelled to commit that story to paper or the electronic version thereof. That story was the Tall Boy.
I have since written three more short stories and several books, woo hoo!
If you have a dream or a thought that you feel is worth noting, then note it, as you never know where it might lead.
Please excuse any typo's or grammatical errors as I write and edit all of my own work. When you write 100,000 words or more a few errors are bound to occur. Hopefully these shouldn't detract from your engagement with and enjoyment of, the story.
