Kenny Harry

Kenny David Harry was born in East London to Dominican parents and is a father of two children, Aaliyah and Terrel. He has seven brothers and sisters living in London, Essex, Sheffield, and Dominica.

Kenny has a diploma in youth and community work and counselling, BSc (hons) degree in social policy and research, a post-graduate certificate in health and social care management and a master's degree in social work. Kenny previously worked as a qualified youth worker with children and young people with learning difficulties, a children and youth counsellor, mainly working with young men with anger management and sexual health issues, and a mentor coordinator, training mentors to work with looked after children.

Kenny first became aware of the need for a parenting book for fathers living in Britain due to fathers seeking advice from him on a number of fatherhood and relationship issues. All of the books he recommended at the time were American in origin, and he saw the need for a book that highlighted fathers’ experiences in relationships, the workplace, and fatherhood, and having to manoeuvre what tends to be a hostile environment towards them.

At present, Kenny is an Independent Social Worker working with children and families and an Independent fostering panel member.

He has devoted his life working with children and young people, believing that all young people have untapped talent, and given the right encouragement and direction, can fulfil their potentials.
