April Villars

April Villars is an art teacher from Northern California who has always loved the beach and all things creative. She spent several years living in Hawaii, where she had her first son—and where the island’s vibrant colors and beauty helped shape her bright, joyful illustration style.

A lifelong dreamer, April always wanted to write and illustrate children’s books. Her son’s love of dinosaurs inspired Rex Rides a Wave, blending his favorite creatures with her passion for storytelling and beach life.

Guided by her Christian faith, April hopes her books inspire young readers with messages of hope, perseverance, and the belief that through faith, anything is possible.
