Wendy Falk currently works as a school counselor but her writing career began long ago. Having served as a secondary level English and Journalism teacher, Falk enhanced her career with freelance writing assignments for trade publications, columns for the local newspaper, and running her school's newspaper, earning blue ribbon honors five years in a row.
Falk, and her co-author, Jennie Kennedy, a school social worker, chose to write about real life problems they see every day in their schools, and they show how challenging conversations can be held safely. Falk often says, "First I'll tell you the truth, and then I'll help you handle the truth." She believes students can be empowered to problem solve and self advocate when they have successfully been shown how to navigate those waters safely.
Falk works as a high school counselor in Wisconsin, serving s historic and diverse community in the Fox Cities area. She also serves as an adjunct instructor for the Masters of Arts in Counseling program at Lakeland University, also located in Wisconsin. Falk and her husband, Chris, will be celebrating their 25th anniversary this coming year and are the proud parents of three young adults in college. Falk is honored to serve as a volunteer for Special Olympics Wisconsin, and advocates strongly for individuals with disabilities as two of their three children are diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Whenever possible, Falk enjoys a great book, music, cooking, chasing lighthouses and a long walk, all with the company of her two fur babies, Wilson and Finnegan.
