Mark C. Yang was born and raised in South Korea. He graduated from the college of arts of Seoul National University in Korea in 1971. He met Jesus personally in his college days and received God’s calling as a full-time servant of God for campus missions at UBF. He married Anna Yang in 1974, and has Sarah Theresa and Mark Jr. Sarah Theresa married Joseph Ahn and gave birth to Abraham and Anna-Marie. Mark Yang Jr. married Rebecca Hye-sook Kim and gave birth to Monica, Sarah, Anna and Samuel.
From September 1976, he began to pioneer Korea University. He pioneered 9 UBF chapters and sent out 230 missionaries to various countries during his 30 years of service as the senior pastor of the Anam UBF ministry in Korea. He came to America as a missionary in March of 2006 and has been working as a Bible teacher in Chicago until now.
He studied at the United Graduate School of Theology at Yonsei University from 1994 to 1996. He studied for one year at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School from 1999 to 2000. He studied the Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary, School of Intercultural Studies from 2006 to 2010 and obtained the doctoral degree in 2010.
