Shane Drift

Shane Drift is an aspiring screenwriter, author, and poet. He has carried traditional stories since his childhood, taught to him by his grandmother and other tribal elders. One of these stories inspired him to write a screenplay called, Sad Evil. Bringing other of these stories to today’s children, Shane wrote “Spirit Quest: Hummingbird and Sage’s Journey.” This is the first book in the Spirit Quest series.

Shane lives on the beautiful Bois Forte Reservation located in northern Minnesota. He graduated with honors from Mesabi Range Community and Technical College and is currently an enrolled member of the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa. Shane continues to learn his native language and embraces the culture, traditions, and teachings that were passed down to him by his grandmother and other elders.
