BJ Mallen

BJ Mallen is a magician, poet, and professional mischief maker based in Colon, Michigan: the Magic Capital of the World. He moved there from the Chicago suburbs as a culture-shocked fifth grader with a broken heart and a love of magic that became his lifeline. That love turned into a calling and eventually, a 30+ year career of bringing laughter, wonder, and joyful chaos to audiences across the country.

BJ has opened the world-famous Abbott’s Magic Get-Together for more than the past decade, made a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance on NBC’s Today Show, and was recently named one of the top five emcees in the magic industry.

He’s also the author of My Unicorn Has Lost Its Horn and No Poems on Sunday, two laugh-out-loud books that hit #1 and #2 on Amazon’s Hot New Releases for Children’s Humorous Poetry in June 2025.
