Chris Trageser

Born in Kansas City, Missouri, and raised on a farm in southeast Kansas, Chris Trageser is a multifaceted storyteller whose work spans literature, film, and music. An eight-year veteran of the U.S. Army and Army National Guard, he served as a combat engineer and deployed to Iraq—experiences that lend a gritty authenticity to the action, drama, and adventure in his writing.

A lifelong creative, Chris began his artistic journey in music. Starting the violin at age nine, he performed on television alongside a professional opera singer by age eleven. His musical career expanded to include the viola, trumpet, guitar, and bass, leading to widespread local radio play with his alternative rock band in 2000 and live shows across Texas venues from 2007 to 2012 in his nu-metal band, Plague of 98. He continues to play guitar and compose music today.

Driven by a passion for visual storytelling, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Digital Cinematography from Full Sail University in 2021. He has penned numerous screenplays and produced an array of music videos, interviews, and instructional content. In 2025, he produced his first full-length biographical documentary, which was acquired by three streaming platforms. He brings this highly cinematic, mystery-driven approach to his prose, most notably in his post-global collapse sci-fi thriller, Project Brady.

When he isn't writing or behind the camera, Chris is fascinated by world history and space exploration. He loves traveling, exploring new areas, and is an avid cook who enjoys firing up the barbecue.
