About the Author
Gordon Charles MacLean is a U.S. military veteran, entrepreneur, and author who has spent more than three decades building businesses, leading teams, and studying what separates a successful life from a meaningful one.
His journey began in the U.S. Air Force, where he served in the intelligence community supporting high-priority reconnaissance missions aboard the legendary U-2 "Dragon Lady" aircraft. Working alongside organizations such as the Defense Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency, Lockheed Martin, and Raytheon, he learned that precision, discipline, accountability, and character aren't just military virtues—they're foundations for life.
After leaving the military, Gordon built companies in commercial real estate, technology, and other entrepreneurial ventures. Along the way, he experienced both remarkable successes and difficult failures, discovering that external achievement alone cannot create lasting fulfillment. That realization became the catalyst for years of studying human behavior, decision-making, leadership, and the timeless principles that shape extraordinary lives.
Those lessons became The Awake Code.
More than a book, The Awake Code is Gordon's invitation for readers to examine the invisible code already directing their lives and intentionally rewrite it through 39 enduring principles rooted in discipline, purpose, resilience, service, and personal responsibility.
Today, Gordon continues to mentor entrepreneurs, speak on leadership and intentional living, and build the Awake Code Society—a growing community dedicated to helping people live by design instead of by default.
