Rowan Hartley is a greenhouse designer, grower, and educator passionate about sustainable food production and modern cultivation systems.
For over 20 years, he has studied and tested greenhouse environments ranging from small backyard structures to advanced year-round growing systems. His work combines practical experience with clear, easy-to-understand solutions for everyday growers.
What began as a simple curiosity about growing healthier food evolved into a lifelong mission: helping people create productive, efficient, and resilient greenhouse spaces—regardless of climate or experience level.
Through hands-on experimentation and years of research, Rowan has explored hydroponics, passive-solar systems, tropical cultivation, mushroom production, vertical growing, and aromatic plant greenhouses. His goal is to simplify complex greenhouse concepts and make them accessible to everyone.
When he’s not writing or designing cultivation systems, Rowan spends his time testing new growing methods, caring for plants, and helping others reconnect with food, sustainability, and self-sufficiency.
“A greenhouse is more than a structure — it’s a way to create abundance, resilience, and a closer connection with nature.”
