Jade Ayerst

Jade is a teacher, mother of three boys, and children’s book author from South Africa.

As a mother, Jade has always loved watching the world through her sons’ eyes. A simple family outing can become a great adventure, a rock pool can hold a world of discoveries, and three brothers can experience the very same day in three completely different ways.

Inspired by her own sons and the memories they have made together, Jade created Finn, Max & Leo, a children’s book series about three brothers with very different personalities and one shared love of adventure.

At the heart of the stories are the moments Jade treasures most: childhood curiosity, muddy feet, unexpected discoveries, brotherly mischief, plenty of laughter and the special bond between siblings. Many of the adventures are inspired by real family experiences, transformed into stories for other children and families to enjoy together.

When she is not teaching or writing, Jade loves travelling, reading, spending time with her family and making memories with the people she loves.

Through Finn, Max & Leo, she hopes to encourage children to stay curious, explore the world around them and discover that some of life’s best adventures are the ones shared with the people we love.
