Julie Warren is an educator and debut author with a Master’s in Education and more than 20 years of experience supporting students with disabilities. She has spent years tracking her own nervous system and observing recurring patterns in the behavior and nervous system responses of others, shaping the visual framework presented in Looking Beyond the Behavior. As an Adapted Physical Education teacher and autistic educator, she has dedicated her career to helping students, educators, and families better understand students’ needs.
Driven by a deep curiosity about human behavior, Julie has spent years seeking to understand why people think, feel, and behave the way they do. Drawing from her professional experience, personal study, and lived experience, she translates complex ideas into practical visual tools that help others better understand the person behind the behavior.
Looking Beyond the Behavior is her first book and reflects her mission to improve the lives of children by helping educators, parents, therapists, and other professionals move beyond managing behavior to understanding the person behind it. She believes that greater understanding has the power to change lives, and this book is her contribution toward that vision.
