Hello, I’m Karl Pharoah, an independent British author with a lifelong love of stories, collecting, cinema and the memories we attach to the things we treasure.

My Collector’s Vault books grew from my passion for physical media and the belief that a collection is about far more than monetary value. DVDs, Blu-rays, VHS tapes, SteelBooks and other pieces of film history can hold memories of people, places and moments in our lives. Through these books, I want to celebrate that connection while also sharing practical knowledge with collectors and those who may one day inherit a collection.

But storytelling has always taken me beyond the collector’s shelf.

I also write children’s books, creating colourful characters, gentle adventures and stories with heart. My children’s writing explores friendship, kindness, confidence, discovery and the natural world, while giving young readers stories they can simply enjoy.

Bumble the Busy Bee is part of this journey—a warm and colourful story about a little bee who discovers friendship and begins to understand just how important even the smallest creature can be.

I’m also developing further children’s stories and imaginative adventures, including larger fantasy worlds where ordinary lives can lead to extraordinary places.

Although my books may seem very different, they come from the same place: a love of storytelling, imagination, memories and the things that connect us.

Whether I’m writing about the magic of cinema, the story behind a treasured collection, or a little bee finding his place in the world, I want my books to leave the reader with something worth remembering.
