JC Alvarez

JC Alvarez is a Chilean-Canadian author whose writing is shaped by a lifetime of migration, faith, family, memory, and personal transformation. Born in Chile and established in Canada for more than five decades, he draws from lived experience to explore the meaning of identity, belonging, exile, resilience, and the places we continue to carry within us.

He began writing at the age of twelve, filling notebooks with thoughts and stories that remained private for many years. Today, those memories have become the foundation of deeply personal books that invite readers into moments of loss, discovery, reconciliation, and hope.

Through works such as Entre rejas y mares, Between Bars and Seas, and La parte de mí que se quedó en Chile, JC Alvarez writes with the conviction that even the most difficult chapters of our lives can reveal meaning, restore memory, and remind us of who we are.
