Katherine is a wife and the proud mom of an amazing toddler. When she's not writing, you can find her at home with her dog Finn and cat Brees, dreaming up new stories for little learners, exploring new coffee shops, traveling the world, or channeling her love of creativity into something new.
With a Master's degree in Education and seven years of classroom experience teaching first, third, and fourth grades, Katherine knows firsthand how children learn, and how it feels when math just won't click.
She wrote her first book with her dad when she was in second grade, a memory that planted the seed for her debut children's book, Addie Alpaca Does Addition. Her dream is that every child who reads it will see themselves in her books and believe, without a doubt, that they are already a math kid.
