Alastair Brazier

Alastair Brazier is a marine engineer, technical consultant and founder of Absolute Marine. His career has included service as an engineering officer with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, practical engineering work on private yachts, and vessel trials and capability assessment for the UK Ministry of Defence.

Drawing on experience in machinery operation, fault-finding, technical reporting and safety-critical decision-making, he writes practical guides for motor-yacht buyers and owners. His books make complex technical evidence easier to understand, helping readers ask better questions, recognise uncertainty and make informed decisions.

Through Absolute Marine, Alastair provides independent, engineering-led support with yacht purchases, survey findings, machinery questions, maintenance planning, offshore readiness and refit preparation. He lives in Guernsey.
