Jason Sullivan

Jason R.L. Sullivan writes darkly comic fiction about flawed people, bad decisions, and the uncomfortable distance between who we are and who we pretend to be.

His first novella, The Name on the ID, began as an increasingly ridiculous story told to his son at a swimming pool and somehow became the story of Bob “The Sandman” Baggins, a Vietnam veteran, mob lawyer, cocaine enthusiast, reluctant used-car salesman, and deeply questionable American hero.

Sullivan lives in Texas with his family, where his stories have a habit of beginning as jokes and becoming considerably more serious before anyone can stop them.

His fiction is especially interested in identity, perception, loyalty, and the parts of people that don’t show on the surface.
