Robert Louis Williams Jr

Robert Louis Williams Jr. is an author, U.S. Army veteran, and longtime Department of the Army civilian whose writing is rooted in history, family, perseverance, and the stories that deserve to be remembered.

His books span African American history, historical fiction, family history and genealogy, military and veteran experiences, and children’s literature. Through his historical works, Williams brings important figures and overlooked stories from the Black experience to life in a way that is accessible, engaging, and centered on the human side of history.

Family legacy is also central to his work. His 3239 Bloomingdale series preserves generations of Williams, Morris, Murrell, and Gipson family history, blending extensive family research with storytelling designed to ensure those memories are carried forward.

Williams also enjoys creating stories for younger readers inspired by and developed with his daughters, Addisyn Riley Williams and Ava Marie Williams. These books encourage children to explore their talents, believe in themselves, persevere through challenges, value friendship, and understand the importance of family.

A graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and a master’s degree in Organizational Management and Leadership, Williams brings decades of military service, civilian government experience, leadership, travel, and life experience to his writing.
