Manoj Mathew V M

𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐣 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝐕 𝐌, 𝐅𝐈𝐈𝐇𝐌 is a hospitality professional, author and observer of people, places and the quiet moments that shape leadership.

With more than four decades of experience in hospitality, Manoj began his career with the Taj Group after graduating from the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Dadar, Mumbai. His career has taken him across India and overseas, including assignments in Zambia and Sri Lanka, and through leadership roles spanning hotel operations, guest experience, people development and organisational transformation.

He served the Taj Group until 2019 and is currently Senior Vice President – Operations at Tamara Leisure Experiences, where he works across a portfolio of hotels and resorts with a focus on hospitality, sustainability, operational excellence and developing people.

His writing draws on this long journey through hospitality, but reaches beyond the industry into questions of leadership, belonging, memory, place and human relationships.

His work is being developed across 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 – 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐛𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐉𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 is a three-volume leadership memoir drawn from more than four decades in hospitality. The Trilogy is endorsed by Dr Shashi Tharoor. 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘔𝘢𝘱𝘴, the first volume, is with a publisher for publication, followed by 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘱 𝘌𝘯𝘥𝘴 and 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐄𝐲𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 explores observation, place, experience and the meanings that emerge when we look more closely. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘐𝘴 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯, 𝘝𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘮𝘦 𝘐, is published, while 𝘜𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘺 𝘐𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘝𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘮𝘦 𝘐𝘐, is scheduled for publication.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 – 𝐄𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞, 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 brings together reflective literary nonfiction shaped by experiences in hospitality and life. Its first two volumes are 𝘑𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘈 and 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘬.

Across these series, Manoj writes about the lessons that often remain invisible at first glance — and about how experience, attention and reflection can change the way we understand people and the world around us.

Based in Bengaluru, he continues to work in hospitality while writing and pursuing his interests in bird watching, wildlife and photography.
