Sindhu Bhargava

Tulasi, who writes under the pen name Sindhu Bhargava, is a writer, storyteller, book editor and literary mentor from Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Her literary works have been published under the name Sindhu Bhargava.

Originally from Chande, a small village near Barkur in Udupi District, Karnataka, India, she grew up with a deep connection to the Kannada language and literature. She holds a Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering and has one year of work experience as a trainee at BHEL in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

She began her writing journey in 2013 and has continued to write across different genres. Her writings have appeared in newspapers and magazines. She writes poetry, articles, fiction and children's literature, and has also written four research articles.

In 2019, she received the “Kannada Seva Ratna” Award from the The Kannada Sahitya Parishat is located at Pampa Mahakavi Road, opposite Makkala Koota, Chamarajpet, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560018, in recognition of her contribution to Kannada language and literature. She has also received several other awards and recognitions for her literary contributions.

As a book editor, she has been associated with several Kannada books, including Honna Tanti, Koosu Mari, Kaustubha, Bettada Haadiyalli, Navila Hejje, and her new book Sneha Soughandha, a children's poetry collection.

She has written and edited forewords and afterwords for books and has mentored writers in poetry, children’s literature, editing, and manuscript development. Through her literary group, Battada Tore Sneha Balaga, she has supported and encouraged many poets and writers, organized literary programmes and poetry gatherings, and been involved in book releases and poetry anthologies.

What gives her the greatest joy is helping writers recognize their abilities, develop their ideas and bring their writing to readers.

She believes that every writer has a voice worth sharing—and sometimes, all a writer needs is the right encouragement and guidance to bring that voice forward.
