Angela Singletary

I'm a second-generation little person, and this work started at my kitchen table. Last year, my mom woke up unable to walk. I went looking for answers and ended up deep in research on hEDS, where I learned that hypermobility is a major, under-recognized challenge for people with dwarfism.

I hold a degree in health and wellness from Tulane and have spent eight years researching and teaching about dwarfism, the last two in intensive white paper writing. I lost my sister to complications of the condition. I'm raising two daughters who share it, along with a son who doesn't.

Because we're rare, many doctors have never treated a little person, and too often that means no one is looking out for us. I write to change that, so every person with dwarfism, and every parent raising a child with it, can get the best medical care possible despite our rarity.

I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where I run [company name], an advocacy media company.
