Greetings!
I am so pleased to introduce my collaborator, Elena Raspopova of Kiev. Elena studied art at Kiev Polytechnic & has worked as a graphic artist/illustrator for 15 years. Welcome to an expanding venue, Elena!
I'm thrilled to have my work life expanding too, & appreciate Abraham-Hicks for Law of Attraction insights. If you want to follow my trail, here tis. If not, see you inside my books!
I had 7 out prior to "This Day." I like: "Daisy" on getting help/stopping abuse chosen by the National Council for Social Studies & the Children's Book Council & "A Chance to Grow" on relating to a family becoming homeless. When my first "Heart to Heart Caregiving" came out, I was caring for others' young ones along with my own, as well as raising my two teens. (My mom, a writer herself, helped in odd hours while I typed that final draft.) My ID: "proud & happy single mother of 3." I was, and a tired one too. These days I am the rested mother of grown kids ~ each giving to their communities through work they love ~ also blessed with a daughter & sons-in-law, & fine growing grandsons, the whole lot of them kind and happy people.
In the interim, I got to meet so many incredible human beings, teaching in various settings, including high school substituting (using my nickname "Sparky" to counter kids seeing me as that gray-haired lady :-). I had the pleasure of working with some fantastic individuals ~ teens ~ who through their grit & good will, pulled off a spectacular premiere of my musical "In Our Hands Now!" For the script & 13 songs by composer Mick Terry: www.inourhandsnow.com. My dancin feet are itchin to hook up with a company to get "In Our Hands Now!" on the big screen. Screenplay's complete.
Some like to know: I earned Master's in Ed, C & I. That was another rapid-growth time, coming out of juggling kids' needs & wants (oh the worlds we interwove! musical theatre, freestyle biking, wild burro rescue, +). I credit Dr. Sylvia Dean at City U for the intellectual kick-start which allowed me to go on to meet more widely experienced students as adjunct faculty in community colleges, teaching ABE, GED, ESL, & a few satisfying WS classes. Interested in Gender Studies? You'll find "Beyond the Roar" at www.beyondtheroar.com & archived in the Kinsey Institute thanks to Colin R. Johnson, Indiana U.
Thanks, readers, for tuning in to "This Day." Let us know if you want a heads up for the next E. Sandy Powell title!
Oh, yes ... I live & work & walk & dance on the Oregon coast, USA.
