Manchester-born illustrator Steve McGarry, whose cartoons and sports and entertainment features are syndicated worldwide, is the first artist in history to win Illustrator of the Year awards from both America's National Cartoonists Society and the Australian Cartoonists Association. He is the creator of the daily British comic strips "Badlands," (The Sun); "Pop Culture" (Today); "The Diary of Rock & Pop" (Daily Star); "World of Soccer" (The Sun) and "Steve McGarry's Sports Superquiz" (The Sun) among others, and has created numerous features for such UK football magazines as Look-In, Match, Match of the Day and Shoot! His syndicated features, including "Biographic," "Kid City" and "Mullets," have appeared in hundreds of US newspapers, including The New York Daily News and Boston Herald, and many of the world's largest circulation newspapers. Steve McGarry has been based in California since 1989, and is a two-term President of the NCS.
