Laura Hesse

"Any obstacle can be overcome," says Vancouver Island author, Laura Hesse.

"It's all about attitude and never, ever, giving up. Not every story is broadcast on the evening news. Most heroes are every-day people. That is who I write about. That is what thrills me. The result was the creation of the Hannah Storey and Johnny Joe characters in the YA series as well as June Stetler in the teen/adult adventure, Two Independents."

That Laura has a passion for horses and under-dogs is an understatement. She left big city life to pursue a career in forestry that lasted a decade. She was one of the first women to ever be hired on a helitack crew. When an outhouse became a luxury item, she knew it was time to move on. Now she makes her living as a full time author, publicist, and publisher.
