L. A. Shute

While looking for a way to feel productive, after retiring from 35 years of working in industry, Mr. Shute was encouraged by a few people to try writing. It turned out it's something he enjoyed doing. There were things he had to say, though, at first, his offerings stayed within the confines of short stories. He has recently self-published two novels in the Hardly Hill series. The first is entitled Hilltop House and was followed by the second entitled Rightful Owner. both are receiving good reviews.

His stories fall into what he calls just comfortable, easy reading fiction. They are usually loosely based on some real life experience and the reader can usually find some kind of a moral or social commentary and maybe a little nostalgia embedded in them if he cares to look for it.

An unusual background that combines an education in chemical engineering and business with hands-on experience in technical sales/marketing, management, military service and boy scouting colors his writing.

He also maintains an easy reading blog at www.writingsofasimpleoldman.blogspot.com
