Thomas Svolos

Thomas Svolos is a psychoanalyst and psychiatrist, and a Member of the New Lacanian School and the World Association of Psychoanalysis. He practices in Omaha, Nebraska (United States), where he serves as Professor and Chair of Psychiatry at the Creighton University School of Medicine.

Thomas Svolos graduated summa cum laude with a BA in History from Duke University. Svolos received his MD from the University of California, San Francisco.

Svolos' scholarly work has been in psychoanalysis and clinical practice in the mental health field, with special areas of interest in the psychoanalytic treatment of patients with psychosis and patients with addictions. He is the author of "Twenty First Century Psychoanalysis." He is also the co-author and co-editor of "Lacan and Addiction." His journal publications have appeared in nine languages.
