"Chilling Encounter" (July, 2022) follows "River Escape," in trio of maritime novels, which started with "Atlantic Hijack." A short story and verse publication was published in May, 2023. Titled - Short Story, Verse, Commentary by Colin H Coles. Author decided to revert to actual birth name, instead of customary nom de plume - Sam Grant for this latest book release.

Author's early career saw service in the Britiish Merchant service. This began with pre- sea training at HMS Conway, which led to service aboard eight ships as deck apprentice and deck officer. Ships traded worldwide.

Occupations included that of breakfast chef, kitchen porter, gardener, waiter, deck chair attendant, pier and golf course attendant, junior clerk in a solicitors office, together with a newspaper Sunday delivery. This delivery work to twelve villages paid more than six days of employment at the solicitors office!

Also, later in life, a thirty year employment with Royal Mail's postal service and then giving assistance to the running of seven retail stationery /art and craft shops, across south west of England. Designed and constructed by author's eldest son.

Novel - "Dancing on the Beach," by Sam Grant is a romantic thriller which borrows, partly, in occupatinal description from author's life experience, when a deck chair attendant employed by Devon County Council for two seasons in home town of Torquay. Devon, UK.

"Galactic Mission and "Galactic Mission Part Two," are classic science fiction novels.

About one hundred poems have been published. A number appear in "Poems with themed notes" and "Mists of Time," publications in partnership with Paragon Publishing, Rothersthorpe. More recent poems are included in latest book - Short Story, Verse, Commentary by Colin H Coles.

"Persuasion's Price," mystery thriller, and more recently play of same name, includes some description of postal work, as experienced by character, Dannny in the novel. Description for this novel : "Sinister events in a quiet English town.
