Steen Alexander is a pseudonym for Steen A. Nielsen, a novelist and publisher. He has a background in academic life and business consultancy and is now dedicating himself to independent research and creative writing. His aim is to write fiction across different genres, always with the focus on human dignity and emotional depth when people suddenly become confronted with tough or complex challenges.
His fields of interests are psychology and politics, language and history. More widely, he is socially active and teaches on a voluntary basis. His endeavour to use literature as a bond between people is to him an essential part of social life, a means to bring people together across a wide spectrum of society.
Steen A. Nielsen has an international background; trilingual, born in Denmark, in a borderland between Denmark and Germany; he speaks both Danish and German, and was also raised as an English-speaker. He is a linguist from the University of Copenhagen, a political scientist from Sciences Po and Sorbonne (Paris IV) and a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics, in International History (2000).
He has been a consultant, his firm specialising in IBC solutions and marketing strategies, with clients ranging from business to defence, as well as private individuals. He also has many years of teaching experience, both inside and outside academia. Now he is strictly freelance and works as an independent researcher and writer.
