Hubert Michelis

Born in 1958 in the countryside near Cologne,in 1979 I finished school and studied Philosophy and Theology at Bonn University and some semesters English. During studies I became a monk

(Franciscan) and was ordinated as a priest in 1985. Via India, where I met Mother Theresa

and cooperated with the brothers and sisters of charity, I finally came to Hongkong and China as a missionary.

Only 2 years I had been living there because I had met a Taiwanese woman (my later wife) and returned to Germany. Because I could not come over my problem I left the monastery and looked for a job. Then I came to Mc Donald's and worked for this company over 6 years. Since 1989 we are married and we have 3 children. After my time as a fast-food manager I worked for two different banks in Frankfurt/Main for another 20 years. During the whole time I was engaged in the documentary business or so called "Trade Finance".

I have been writing for over 25 years, but since 2014 when I lost my job, I am a full time author and writing more and more became my passion! "The murderer was Socrates" is my 2nd novel.

Three more titles will be published this year. Also my own authbiographical story will be amoung them. Also a collection of Short Stories will follow and in autumn a novel with the title: "Rien ne vas plus!" will follow. It is about a waelthy man who is a Playboy, who drinks and also likes gambling and who also acts at the stock markets (Neuer Markt, etc.) He destroys a lot of other lives and makes many other people unhappy and finally (with 50) considers about suicide. He plans to kill himself in his room in the Hotel Ritz in Paris after a last week of "dolce Vita" ...

At the moment I am writing a philosophical book about the philosophy of Jean-Paul Sartre and

(partially also about Albert Camus) but the main point is Sartre's imagination of unlimited

freedom, because ha said: We are condemned to be free!
