Julie Hiner

I was born and raised in Calgary, AB (Canada). Calgary remains my home base as I love all the open space, and being so close to the mountains. I went to the University of Calgary, where I took Computer Science, and specialized in Network Simulation. I worked for a number of years as a full time IT professional before transitioning into contracting. I then started to travel more, between contracts. My biggest passion is road cycling. I write a blog about my cycling adventures, and just finished publishing a book. My book captures my personal journey to discovering who I truly am and what I am capable of, and it all started when I got my first road bike. As my bike completely changed my life, I am donating all proceeds from my book sales to the World Bicycle Relief. This organization truly changes lives by facilitating access to healthcare and education through the use of bicycles.

My love for writing (back from high school) has been re-ignited over the last couple of years!!! I love being outside. In addition to cycling, I love to hike, trail run, and go for long walks.
