A propos de cet article

4to. [8 pp (unpaginated).], w/ photo illustrations. Self-printed photo-illustrated softcovers, cover art photo of downtown Birmingham, AL (minor rubbing, shelfwear, slight curling to corners), still VG copy, from the library of George Reed Volker (1925-2018), former World War II pilot, and urban planner in California, New York, and Washington State. First offprint edition of this scarce post-War work encouraging the granting of government aid to build new downtown city parking lots, and encouraging combined parking-retail zoning and land, and the solution required a far greater emphasis on public transit. Evans feared that the emphasis on building more parking would only increase the need and strain of automobiles on infrastructure. Reprinted from Mass Transportation, December, 1952. Worldcat locates 1 copy (U. of Alabama).
