First edition, signed by Kramer on the dedication page. Through photography and a series of short essays, Kramer reflects on time spent with the folk singer from the summer of 1964 to the end of 1965. Pictures include the recording sessions for Bringing it Back Home, and the inflammatory Dylan-goes-electric performance at the Newport Folk Festival. Kramer is known for shooting remarkably intimate portraits of the musician, including the album covers of Bringing It All Back Home and Highway 61 Revisited. He writes "the best way to photograph Dylan seemed to be to anticipate the pictures and not to force them. Pictures are always occurring and coming together in the natural environment and course of events. When pictures are made this way, they are often better than the posed variety. Certainly they are more truthful." Large octavo. Photographic illustrations throughout. Original black cloth, spine lettered in silver. With dust jacket. Minor rubbing to ends and corners; jacket unclipped, closed tear to head of front panel, a couple of spots of rubbing: a near-fine copy in very good jacket. N° de réf. du vendeur 183783
