8vo., 452pp. Beautiful Stated First Edition of this landmark reference work. Tight and clean throughout with just a hint of rubbing to heel but barely. Slight spine lean. Very minimal page toning. Very attractive unclipped Hannes Bok dust jacket, ($6.00), has some rubbing to folds and hinges. A tiny nick at the heel. Edges and spine panel moderately toned. Two small, superfluous clear tape mends on the reverse but invisible from the front. Still sharp with no creases or tears. Present very well. Signed and inscribed by the author on the front end-paper to an unknown recipient, "To P. Schulyler Miller. with appreciation & regards, R.F. Bleiler". Miller, (1912-1974) was a prolific contributor to pulps such as Amazing Stories, Astounding, The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, Marvel Tales, and many others. His only notable novel was 1941's "Genus Homo". A very pretty collectable copy and a great association.
